Studio 16 Furniture is a design/build custom furniture studio specializing in handmade, quality-crafted Vintage Industrial Accent Furniture for the home, office, retail and hospitality industry.

All our work is handcrafted in our own shop right here in Midwest USA.

Reclaimed steel and wood are our primary materials along with our passion to create unique, functional and enduring pieces.

All our pieces are custom made from upcycled materials.

What is Vintage Industrial Style?

Influenced by the warehouses and factories of the Industrial Revolution, Vintage Industrial style incorporates man-made elements such as steel and concrete along with reclaimed wood and other unfinished materials.

The vintage style stands between the past and present, combining and appreciating past eras’ styles, designs, and elements.

It is a prime example of something from bygone days that highlights agedness, rawness, utilitarianism, and roughness updated for 21st-century aesthetics and sensibilities.

We like to call it “Uniting nature with the industrial revolution of man”.

What We Do

Studio 16 Furniture designs and creates unique and original pieces of Vintage Industrial Furniture that can be utilized in a variety of ways. Our workstation for example would be an excellent choice for a hostess stand or a check-out counter in a retail space or coffee shop.

Sideboards can be used in restaurants as server stations and pos stations. They would also be perfect for beverage & condiment stations where we can add a trash chute in the top and enclosed area below for a waste receptacle.

Being narrow, our high top tables are great for being placed by windows serving as an extra food counter where customers could stand or sit to enjoy a drink or quick meal. They would also be an excellent choice as merchandise display tables.

Reclaimed wood or expanded metal (9 gauge, raised) or for sides, backs and doors
Antique pine stain
Distressed finish on metal with a special top coat to prevent rust & protect finish – various colors
3 Coats of poly finish on wood

Attention to details

All our hinges are drilled, tapped and secured with screws, not welded in place. We think this is a much cleaner look. There are on average over 150 holes painstakingly drilled for the gusset rivets, period screws and hinges. All this handcrafted work is extremely time consuming, but we believe in only delivering quality pieces. Our proof is in our details.

Before any piece leaves our shop, every detail is checked to ensure the pieces meet not only the requirements of our customer but our own commitment to excellence as well.

Materials

All of our materials are from US sources, nothing is imported. We only use recycled steel and reclaimed wood from 100 to 200-year-old structures.
